COLOR

BLUE MOOD 2022

A self-portrait colored pencil drawing done over the span of 6 months. This was my first time experimenting with a one color palette - I used only 2 shades of blue along with white. This is my favorite work to this day.

GOING NUMB 2021

A colored pencil drawing of a woman “going numb” represented by the color slowly fading off her face which represents her emotions. This piece was submitted to my AP Art Portfolio in 2022.

WALKING HANDS 2021

An semi-observational colored pencil drawing on toned paper of my classmate’s hands. This piece allowed me to experiment with different perspectives and practice realism.

“ITS YOUR TURN!” 2021

A semi-observational colored pencil and ink drawing of various people playing a game of Monopoly. To create a feeling of being “zoned out”, I drew multiple hands closing in on one person, as well as incorporating a eye-catching background. This piece was submitted in my AP Art Portfolio in 2022.

PAINT BY LEGO 2023

An observational still-life painting of my favorite childhood toys including my stuffed animal, Sheepy, Legos, a wand, an American Girl Doll, and comic books. The challenge was to only use two complementary colors, I chose purple and yellow, to create different values and depth. This entire painting was created using only a singular 2x6 Lego piece.

PAINT BY ROLLER 2023

An observational still-life painting of various paintbrushes, tools, and buckets found in my house. The challenge again was to only use two complementary colors, I chose blue and orange, to create different values and depth. This entire paining was created using only a small paint roller - not a paint brush.

PUPPET 2021

A collage of newspapers, paint markers, and graphite drawings symbolizing one feeling controlled by another, and often feeling lost. The drawings were both done by observation. This piece was submitted in my AP Art Portfolio in 2022.

WHO? 2022

A oil pastel drawing of a human struggling to grasp their own identity. When looking in the mirror, they see someone else staring back at them. I depicted this difference in identity by using a cool toned palette and a warm toned palette. This was my first time experimenting with oil pastels. This piece was submitted in my AP Art Portfolio in 2022.

STANDARDS 2022

A mixed-media collage of various beauty items, statistics, magazines, and red crayon symbolizing how beauty standards often make women feel like they have to look a certain way. I utilized the red crayon to mimic surgical plans and areas to change and well as statistics and quotes from maganizes regarding the issue in society.

TAROT CARDS 1 2023

A uniquely design 4 set of tarot cards that combines elements of tarotology with skeletons that were crafted for my 2D Design class. I chose 4 cards out of a standard deck and curated them with my own spin. These cards are made with mostly ink and marker, along with some colored pencil detailing.

TAROT CARDS 2 2023

These cards were crafted over a long 3 month process where they went through various iterations and formats. The medium and size of these cards also underwent many changes in the creation process.
